World’s strongest animal effectively benches 1,000 times its body weight



Even if a grown man could pull 95,000 kilograms, he still would get shown up by the newly crowned world’s strongest insect—proportionally speaking. Researchers recently discovered that this honor should go to the Onthophagus taurus dung beetle, whose strongest males can pull some 1,140 times their own body weight, the research team reported in a press release.

The world's largest biceps belong to Mostafa Ismail (Egypt) and were measured for left arm flexed at 64.77 cm (25.5 in) and non-flexed 62.23 cm (24.5 in) and for right arm flexed at 63.5 cm (25 in) and non-flexed 60.96 cm (24 in). The measurements were taken in Franklin, Massachusetts, USA which is where Mostafa now resides.

Discovered by apple farmer Chisato Iwasaki of Hirosaki City, Japan, on October 24th of 2005, the choice Hokuto apple above tipped the scales at 1,849 grams (about 4 lbs 1 oz).

The El Camino Del Rey in Spain is an amazing place in the world and it is absolutely terrifying if you are afraid of heights. The El Camino Del Rey is a trail in Spain but it is not just a set of fields, hills and small mountainous paths which you go through, this is one of the most dangerous trails in the entire world. Atlas moths has the largest wing surface area of all moths and the markings on the moth's front wingtips resemble a snake's head and may scare away predators.

A rare, parasitic, rootless and leafless plant, Rafflesia arnoldii has the largest known flower in the world.
  
About this species
This southeast Asian plant has the largest known individual flower in the world. It is parasitic on members of the genus Tetrastigma (in the grape family,Vitaceae). It has no roots or leaves and most of the time lives unobserved inside the woody stems and roots of its host. Rafflesia arnoldii only becomes visible when its plump buds emerge through the bark of its host and develop into the large, fleshy flowers which are pollinated by carrion-flies.
